Default dpi question

hello photo lovers!! I am super super new at this whole photography thing and I have a question. I have a nikon D3000 and it is currently set to 72dpi.....but I know it's been higher....at 300....but I have NO IDEA how to change it....can someone please help me figure out how to change the dpi's on my camera!!?? Thanks so much!

DPI is not a function of a camera and you would render different DPI using your photo editing software.

If I remember correctly,... the MP setting is directly related to the DPI. The higher the MP setting, the higher the DPI setting. DPI is Dots Per Inch. Which should really be PPI = Pixels Per Inch.

As for changing it, just change the resolution that your shooting at. Check your manual if your not sure on how to change it.

It's just a number.
The only thing you may be able to change in camera is the image size (in pixels). It will probably be under the shooting menu (Idon't own a Nikon)
