Guys,
I'm using Photoshop Elements on some photos of some food products I have taken. Using the quick selection tool, I can select the outline of the products easily enough. However, I just want to save the image of the product only, no background exactly as I have selected with the tool. How do I go about doing this? I can cut and paste the selection to a new layer but it will appear on a white background. All I want is the product image only. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Jason. |

You cannot save a JPEG with a transparent background. It simply isn't allowed and if you try the system will automatically insert a white background. I would suggest you try saving the image as a PNG file, which will allow transparency. TIFF and PSD will, as well, though they tend to be very large files.
