Default changing color of straw

I had to take this photo of some nursing lambs using a flash (hate flash and clearly don't use it well). The shadow in the foreground is darker than the rest of the straw. How do I get the color to match the other straw?
I have Photoshop Elements 7 and am experimenting with a 30 day trial of Lightroom 2 so I can use either or both.

The video uses Elements 5 but the technique will work in Elements 7:
Changing Color of objects in Elements 5

This link shows a different method involving Selections:
Color It with PS Elements

And another method:

And yet another method:
Replace colors in an image

Since the straw is in a random pattern, it should be fairly easy to get it to match using the clone tool in Elements.

Samanax--Thank you for all those great links. I think I need to spend more time with them because I still have a lot of trouble with the replace color operations (with the brush especially). Somehow I'm just not getting it. I keep wishing I could sample some of the existing colors as the colors that would replace the ones I want to change. Trying to match them from the color grid is a bit frustrating.
photog1107--Cloning is what I ended up doing. thanks.
