Looking for Ideas

I'm going to be shooting a family portrait of some friends, I need some ideas for poses. Any ideas would help. Thanks

Just tell them to do what comes natural. Then tell them to move closer to each other ;-) Be sure to let your imagination do the work, or you'll end up with a stiff bog-standard portrait.

What are the ideas you already have? What do the portrayed people like? What kind of area do they live in? How do they relate to each other? These are all questions you should ask yourself. Without such information we can only give you standard answers, which will give you a boring standard picture.
