Default I dont get it

I took this picture among others of a friend of mine. she asked me to send them to her via facebook and when i did she immediately got back to me asking me to delete all of them because she looks fat and ugly. could someone shed some light as to why i got this response...? did i shoot from the wrong angle? is it the lighting? the pose maybe?

That, friend, is a little thing called insecurity. Just about every woman i've ever photographed has had it.

Looks nice to me. Yes, it sounds like insecurity. Sorry... you perhaps need to work on encouraging her a little bit.

Looks like she has a little double chin thing going on. You could have had her raise her chin a bit, or shot from slightly above. You can try editing it PP but that is more work.

I like the photo. Your friend's face looks a bit shiny to me but other than that its a great photo. I agree with the above poster about the double chin advice. I hate having my photo taken and get highly critical about what I look like. It must be a girl thing.

actually didnt notice the chin till mentioned above , I really like pic otherwise , we women are very overcritical of ourselves, maybe show her them first before putting them on facebook.

one thing i've learned about women that are not a size 0-3, is to try and seperate the arms from the waist... having the arms next to the body can give the impression of being wider than reality

nh7tn - I agree with that. I always try and pose myself with my arms bent with hand on hip and turn my body around about 45 degrees otherwise my arms look too beefy and could feed a family of 6 for a week!
