Default Have you ever....

Looked at a picture of you so much you lose all ability to see yourself as a normal person and start to feel like you're some grotesque visage of yourself?

I've been playing with a gladware and tinfoil "ring flash adapter" and at first I liked this picture, and now all I can see is the wide angle distortion in it. At least, I hope it's distortion and I don't have a disturbingly long head.

Anyway, whatcha think?

arrghh it's hideous!! Fetch your pitch-forks people!!!!

No, just kidding I've no idea how long your head is supposed to be, but it certainly doesn't look grotesque in any way, it's actually a neat picture.

Your expression kinda looks like a curious cat investigating the camera. I wouldn't be surprised to see a paw about to touch the camera lens

Any comments on the faux two-bowl ring light?

I'm going to remake it this week trying to be more careful with keeping the foil smoother and cleaner and use a better rounder outer bowl. I'm not sure the quicky slapped together version I made last night was throwing enough light to really get the effect right.

.

are you meaning the light circles around your pupils?

did you fire the flash through the back of a bowl with the back cut out, and another in front of that?

almost like a )) (like two "c" 's spooning sort of a shape?) clever idea!

looks good...

Indeed, although it wasn't my clever idea, it's from here.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty uncrafty, so the face I still have enough fingers left to push the shutter after dealing with hard plastic and box cutters makes this project more successful than most.

This is why I don't take pictures of myself and I try not to let others take pictures of me. hehe

Not sure how long your head is. It does look a bit distorted though.

Cool catchlights from the ringflash. Nice angle. I've always wanted to try the DIY ringflash just to see if I can do it but never have the time. How long did it take you to put it together?

No contribution on what you posted; I just wanted to say thanks for the laugh...

Maybe an hour all said and done, but like I said I did a pretty terrible job and glued my hand to various things on multiple occasions. I used what I learned from the crappy first try to start putting together a second one, and I'm being a bit more careful now so it's taking a little longer, but I'll post some results when I'm done after work today.
