Hoping for a few good tips...

Well, here goes my first post.

A girl I work with has a natural beauty to her, so I asked if it would be possible to walk around downtown Los Angeles and take a few shots. She loved the idea, and took it as a "scratch your back if you scratch mine" possibility!! She happens to make necklaces, and could use some photos of her work. I need to start a portfolio somewhere. The idea is sound. So here I am, before even confirming a date, with only but a camera (see below). Below are two shots, one being the subject (SO sorry, it's blurred because of the spontaneity of the shot) and the second a shot where I had more time to capture.

I plan to shoot mid-morning, in the city (possibly in the subway station or at a park), and told her to wear a low neckline if she plans to accenuate the necklace. Anyone out there care to share a few good tips on making this a fun yet productive day? Thanks for reading.
