Default need reviews on shots and color correction :-)

Hello friends,

As a beginner, I am very bad at post processing. I have no idea about aesthetics of editing, like How much contrast should be given to a photo to present a particular mood?
Your reviews and tips will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. my command on English language is also pathetic :-P

Here is what I see.
1st image: If you were to brighten the image some and the increase the contrast it would help the viewer see the elements (the man sitting and his shadow) of the story the image is telling.
2nd image: Looks very good on my monitor. The exposure and white balance look proper and the composition is very good. Nice capture and post production.
The 3rd and 4th images seem to be under exposed which is making the feel dull and grey. If you increase the exposure/brightness the images will come to life.

You presented the question of contrast/brightness to create a mood. I look at it more that I need to correct the image to make the elements of the story come forward and the non-essential elements diminish. This would generally be a function of contrast. Brightness adjustments would be implemented to make the image either more realistic or set the mood .
To simplify it [Bright = Happy] [Dark = Serious or Heavy Moods] [Hi Contrast= Intensity] [Low contrast= Calmness]
