    Default Kingfisher Study

We were out for a wander again today and this handsome chap lead us up and down the beach, every time we got just close enough off he went!! So we paused at a watering hole to have a hot chocolate and then continued up and down the beach! Persistence paid off and I was rewarded with a few decentish shots.

This is the only species of Kingfisher found in New Zealand. As usual many thanks for taking the time to look.

Well done Paul, very nice set & great capture of the him/her coming into deeper breeding colours. #4 is my favourite, I like the POV.

Thanks Shellie, I never realised that they changed so much. I have not seen many Kingfishers this close up, most have been on telephone wires!!
