    Default Once in a lifetime..

Every now and then one is able to enjoy very special events. This past weekend was one for me. My family and I attended the biennial Wings over Wirarapa air show. It was special in many different ways, the Mosquito, Avro Anson, Venom, six jet formation, the list is quite long. So to start off here are a few of my favourite (of the 1500 or so shots)!

    DH 98 Mosquito F Mk 26, DH 115 T.55 Vampires, DH 112 Venom

    IMG_0820m
DH 98 Mosquito, Spitfire Mk IX, Spitfire Tr IX, P51D Mustang

    IMG_0091m
6 Jet Formation, L39C Albatros (x3), DH Vampire (x2), BAC Strikemaster

    IMG_0051m
De Havilland parade, DH60G Fox Moth, DH82 Tiger Moth, DH84 Dragon, DH83 Fox Moth,
    DHC-1 Chipmunk, DHC-2 Beaver, DH 115 T.55 Vampire, DH 98 Mosquito

I was also able to meet up with keenlearner (regular DPS poster) at the show and swap stories and aides on photography. What a magic weekend it was.

    I hope you enjoy.

Very nice We were stuck in the American hot dog line when the jet formation was flying by and I didn't get any shots where they weren't facing away. Wish I'd known a few DPSers were there, I would've taken a few minutes to say "hi"

Something is amiss with that Mustang though.

    Love the jet shot though.

Thanks, I still can't believe how lucky we are to have seen these aircraft.

At least you got some food! It's a pity not meeting you but I'm sure we will get together at another event soon!

Couldn't be happier! Whats better is that the whole family is involved so I don't feel guilty going to these events.

I sure will Annie, it was one of the best events ever - how can it get better?

Yep the Mustang is out of place amongst the Brits, but there wasn't another plane to take its place. The jets put on a great show and the silver blue one is just stunning.

Thanks Richard. It's a pity the Mozzie wasn't able to go accross to you guys in Aus. I'm sure hundreds would have gone to see it,
