Default Starfish

This basket of starfish was on display at a gift shop on Galveston Island. I thought it would make an interesting picture.

Hmmmm... I struggle with these... It's great, BUT these creatures should be in the sea, not in a shop.

It's a "yes, but" kinda picture...

It's a superb pic but...bitter/sweet... I don't know what to say

If I comment on the excellent photography, am I subscribing to the capture of Starfish?

Would you want a dead starfish as a gift...

I'm torn...sorry for the rant folks, I should not have posted

Thanks for the comments everybody. I really appreciate it.
Jeff, no I wouldn't want a dead starfish for a gift, but, and I'm not condoning their capture, they were there and since they were the subject of this photo I'd like to think they didn't die in vain. Again thanks for the comments.

Default More starfish

Not sure the star fish would agree that they didn't die in vain! But on the subject of, em, dead starfish, here's one I have. It's from the north west coast of Ireland where, nearly a year ago, there was a freak storm and 50,000 starfish were washed ashore. Quite a beautiful and sad site at once.
