Default HDR Tutorial

Anyone know of a good place to get a HDR tutorial that's worth a flip? What I'm looking for is what photos are candidates for HDR and how to do it. I currently have photoshop cs2 and ACDSee Pro 3.0.

Thanks.

Hey there,
A HDR is simply a mesh-up of several exposures. Firstly you must take a perfectly exposed shot, next a very underexposed shot then a overly exposed onr. Then use photomerge in photoshop to get an end result. OR take a pic and mess around with it to fake the HDR. This is my two cents, and i hope someone more qualified comes to explain. Hope i helped

From what I have been reading, I go into Aperture priority then meter the scene. Take a note of the shutter speed then go into manual mode. Adjust the shutter there to match then adjust to f8. Then I take 3 shots; one in normal, one with -1 exposure, then one with +1 exposure.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Thanks.

Pretty much what you just said, if you need more extreme exposure compensations than + or - 2 you can change the shutter speed to get the exposure you need good luck with the HDR should be fun

I'm not an HDR expert, but that sounds a little overly complicated. I don't see the need to meter in aperture priority first. Just go into manual mode and set aperture and shutter speed to give a normal exposure. Then just change the shutter speed to give you the over and under exposures you want. The reason you should only change the shutter speed is because changing the aperture will change the focus depth for each shot, which you do not want to do.
