Default Setting the Correct DPI...

Hi guys i just bought a samsung IT100 camera and everyting was fine until i realized that it only takes
photos with the maximum resolution of 96dpi with image size of 41Wx32H inches. the actual pixel count is 4000x3000 which is normal for a 12m. where as my other camera which is also a 12m nikon takes photos of 300dpi with image size of 10Wx13H inches
i have tried using different settings like image quality and image size but its still the same. btw i used photoshope and irfan view to get the image information.
can you please advise how i can set it to 300dpi.
thankyou

The DPI setting on your camera (or in your images) is basically irrelevant to printing. The only thing that matters is how many pixels are in the image -- and your 3000x4000 images are more than big enough to print even poster size.

When it comes to printing (for example) through adoramapix, mpix, etc., all they take is the image -- they ignore the DPI setting in the file entirely (it's just a number -- it doesn't do anything physically to the image). You choose the print size, and they calculate how many dots need to be squeezed into each inch to get that size.
