I have been photography mostly in Auto. E-30 is my third Olympus (E500 and E510 were the others) and this year have been working on using the P,A,S & M Controls. I'm still having a difficult time when photographing a group shoots (getting everyone in focus) , indoors and outdoors. I have other problems (noise in my photo) but I'll ask that question later
![]() Can someone give me some guidance or maybe a Aperture starting point that I can work with. The Lens that I have are, 11-22, 12-60, 70-300, 50, 50-200. The 12-60 and the 70-300 I got when I got my E-30 and the others I've had when I got my E-510. Thank you for your time and I look forward your help DonnaB, MA |

hi!
my guidelines when i'm using aperture priority of my camera ( A) are... 1. if capturing group photos, i prefer f/5.6 to f/8.0 but that depends on the amount of ambient light there is in the area. (if the surrounding has minimal light, either pump up the ISO (100-400... max. would be 800, don't use 1600... too much noise), or use off-cam flash. 2. If i want shallow DOF, i use the smallest aperture number. (zuiko digital has F/2.0 as it's lowest) mostly, i use A and M mode. i rarely use P (cause i don't know how to tweak P mode. hehe!)
