Good for you on the home schooling also. With the poor state of public school these days, the choice is obvious.

Good call on the DSLR for your kids. The Nikon D40 is a good starter. I'll be getting the boys one of those for Christmas. Amazon has 'em for about $470 with an 18-55, a great starter package...or a scaled down model of whatever you've got in a DSLR. I've got the D3, so I'm staying with the Nikon line so the lenses are compatible. So I can buy "them" a new lens for Christmas...that I might have to borrow some day... LOL!

    Best of luck..and keep shootin'!

Thank you for the note. My two girls have never known anything different. We have belonged to the same charter school since 2003 when my oldest started kindergarten. Now she is in 6th and my youngest is in 1st. I would not change a thing. Some days are great and some days are a struggle! I really appreciate my Mommy Mondays! It gives us both a break that we need. They love the teachers at the charter and they enjoy seeing their friends once a week. Just the right amount of balance for us. I commend you with 3 kids and 5 full days a week! Such dedication, devotion and love.
May all our children be the better for it! We were just talking about getting our 11 yo. daughter a low end or gently used DSLR for her to start learning all about digital photography and photoshop. I really think she would love it! I look forward to seeing your 12 yo's work! That is fantastic! Take care, Michelle~

Kudos to you for making the decision to home school. We went from public to a charter school, for which I was the chairman of the board. We still weren't happy with how things were progressing. I run my own business out of my house, Equilution, LLC, so we've got 24/7 exposure to each other! Best of luck to you!!!
