Default is "tabletop" the same as "macro"?

I do a lot of woodturning and I like to put some pictures of my work on my website. I'm still struggling with getting good shots. Should I be asking questions here or is there a better forum for this kind of shooting?

*Cheeky reply* - better still, you could commission one of the photographers here to take photos of your work for your website! hehehe

Personally I think macro refers to really close up photography, like 1:1. I'm not sure whether your wooden items (which, by the way, look gorgeous) come into this category - I guess your pictures are more like still life really. But I'm sure you'll get helpful answers wherever you post, lol!

termite, Welcome

Depending on what aspect you want to discuss, you could post in Composition, Lighting, or Other DP Techniques. True, Macro is not really going to be the place to get your answers for this sort of shot. You might even introduce this in General Chit Chat.
