Hi there,
my first post on these forums and I'm jumping in at the deep end with a critique request ![]() I've been experimenting with some 'macro' shots in my kitchen sink - this time with my 70-200mm Sigma in macro mode. Unfortunately I'm still mounting my flash on camera - but have been trying to bounce it off various items to help with lighting. I'd really love to get some crisper shots (albeit with narrow DOF) - but it seem this particular lens is a bit slow for the amount of movement, not allowing a faster speed than 1/200 sec. - any suggestions welcome. ![]() Camera: Canon EOS 10D Shutter Speed: 1/200 sec F-Stop: f6.7 ISO: 100 Focal Length: 263mm Lens: 70-300mm All comments welcome... |

Hi John and welcome to DPS. That's a really nice macro of the water (study). To get a sharper image you should try to use a smaller F-Stop setting (Larger number like f/11.0 or f/16.0) that will give you more depth of field and bring some of that background into focus. Hope that helps.
