A nice shot, good DoF use. I probably would have gotten closer to the bug if I could have, just my opinion.

You need to allow your camera and exif data to appear on flickr when you upload an image.

I agree with the above comment about getting closer, but I don't feel you have control of DoF. You must get "into" your subject. The subject here is unclear. Is it the bug? The leaf? Or, the out-of-focus leaf in the foreground which really ruins an otherwise nice attempt.

I would have zoomed in more also - at the moment it's a bit unclear what your subject is. There's more leaf than bug!

First of all: Welcome to DPS!! hope you like the forum.

Regarding your photo, I must agree with the above comments: the subjetct is not to clear (and I do not mean focus), I think you could be done another composition and try to make the lovely bug to be the main subject. The leaf in your photo is quite distracting and immediately grabs the eye attention, so the viewer miss the bug which it happens to be the main subject in your photo.

Yes closer. And now that I got to crop and play with your image, be careful about your background. I cut it and tinted background a bit. Of course, with this much crop, the file deteriorates. This is just an example:

Yes, Just try and remember to ask something specific. Perhaps something you are really wanting help with. Composition, crop, color or just about anything.

Exif is also important as it let everyone know your camera settings and allows them to offer you suggestions on alternate settings that might work better.

And one photo per 24 hours
