Is this the cactus v4 trigger system? Try replacing the batteries. The ones that come with them do not have full power. you need a a23 I think for the transmitter and 2x AAA's for the receiver. I have not tried a 430 on the cactus v4 system. You might also look into your manual for the 430 and see if there is a sleep mode or something and disable that. My friend with a 580 ex was having that issue.

Yes. I was thinking that the batteries may be the issue too. Ill try to replace them and hopefully it will work.

check to make sure you are giving the flash enough time to recharge also.

I noticed that too. Is it even possible to connect the transmitter to the flash...? I can't do that with my CyberSyncs...at least I don't think I can. Haha.

I'm pretty sure you can't, unless you're using a PocketWizard TTL unit. Those Tx and Tx/Rx units have a hotshoe up top so you can mount a master speedlight unit onto it.

I was mostly just being pendantic about terminology.
