Question Optimizing natural light

In September I'll be doing a pregnancy shoot. I plan on using all natural light as I no longer have an external flash. Is it worth getting reflectors and such to use with natural light? Anyone have any natural lighting techniques or tips?

don't forget to think about doing it the other way round as well: looking for/creating shade to eliminate hard light.

It really depends on the style that you are looking for. But I would suggest using a reflector and sitting the subject next to a north facing window for nice soft wrap around light. The reflector will go on the opposite side of the subject for fill.
Quick diagram of what I am talking about

.......................Backdrop

Window..........Subject............Reflector

.........................Camera
