Seriously, i will have wish to have come to that level were i already know how to use lighting gears. For the moment, I'm just targeting a glass: EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM. The rest will come in its time. (that i wish to be soooonnn enough!!! Am i addicted? )
Photography in general is addictive I really have only been into it for 3 years. So ya you an addict. PS nice lens I wish I could afford or justify one of those.

Well I must be the first straight guy to go into joans fabrics under my own free will. I bought 9x15 foot muslin fabrics and saved around 150$. I saw them online and thought to my self there has to be a cheaper way than 100$ a background. So I went in and found the fabric. I am going to test it tonight. They had 90 inch, 108 inch and 138 inch wide rolls the down side was the 138 inch rolls did not have enough in length to have 15 feet= 5 yards in length so I had to go with 108inch = 9 feet. So now I have both a 9x15 foot black and white muslin backdrop for only 42$.

So far I have.

3 speedlights
2 shoot through/bounce umbrellas
3 different sized softboxes.
3 packs of color correction gels
seamless white background paper. I dont even have stand for that, I just using painters masking tape to hold it up. A little ghetto but it works.

What I'm waiting for is the Radiopopers Jrx wireless triggers. Now I'm using a sync cable and optical slaves to fire off the speedlights. I am amazed with what can be done with off-camera lights.

No, I don't think you are crazy. I have a three flash set up now with Cactus V4 and three receivers, stands, umbrellas, backdrop, 4'x6' reflector. I did some studio-like work this last weekend in my garage and only used two flashes with the V4s but got nice results. I also happen to be a musician and have a case for speaker stands that nicely carry everything but my cameras and lenses.

Shot from this weekend.

Well I did my first real on site shoot for a friend. This was my first real paid shoot well we waved the sitting fee as a baby present however they are paying us for the prints they want . I wish I could remember every setting and configuration I used. I need to start and taking pictures of each setup and writing down the settings that work for a certain lighting configure.

Getting ready for the shoot.

I think the setup pictured above was. Left is a SB-24 on 1/2 power with a 1/2 cto filter. Flash on the right is a Vivitar DF400MZ at 1/1 power.

Here are a few pics from the shoot.

I need to get much quicker about setting up. Setup and breakdown is around 15-30 min for each setup and breakdown. That is background, 2 flash stands with flashes and a boom stand. And then testing to get lighting right.

It's just going to take some time setting up and tearing down and it will start to go faster the more times you do it. Like I said, I'm also a musician and I set up my bass rig and the entire PA for the band. The first time I set up my lights I said to my wife "this is like setting up for the band." So I'm a bit slow with the light right now but I know that, like the band setup, it will get faster over time. You'll find a flow that will work for you and believe me the time will get cut in the long haul.

BTW, here's something from a two-flash shoot I did recently:

I am becoming a flash/lighting addict after hanging out on Strobist! I currently have the following:

- Digital Concepts (Sakar) 952AF/NIK
- Nikon 6.5' TTL Flash Cable
- Soft Diffuser
- Inflatable Mini Softbox
- Gels made from old colored CD Sleeves
- x5 Stanley LED Flashlights
- LED Worklight

I have a set of eBay triggers on order to play with... My Flash NEVER gets left at home now.

Just did this shot last night.... (See attached)
