Default Trying to get better

Hey Everyone, I've been working with lighting a lot this winter and I think it's coming along. I had a friend and his daughter over the other night to do some shots. What do you think? P.S why are they so much softer when I uploaded them?

I have to say that I think these are very, very nice! Nice use of lighting, nice exposure, nice control across two people, nice...

I think the softness has to do with using DPS to host the pictures -- or whatever it is you are using. Using flickr to host seems to have less of a problem with softness.

Good job!

The lighting looks good. The second image is getting a little bright on her cheek and chin. What was the lighting setup?

Has to do with the way it's attached to the post. If you use a photo hosting site like Flickr and imbed them in the post they tend to retain more of their original look. But yeah, the softness of the images does take away from the overall appeal of the shots.

Nice set of images.

Thanks for the nice comments! My lighting setup that used was a softbox with AB400 camera right with a reflector camera left. With the blue background, I used a Vivitar 283 to even the lighting on the background.

Thanks for the help on the softness issue also!

Mike
