Question Low Light AND Sharp

I am having difficulty getting low light to be as sharp as I would like. I have what I consider good lens, going to 2.8, and I have several strobes, including two 580 EX II, and one 480 EXII. I have been mostly trying to get combination window light and strobe fill, but have used bounce techniques and such. I love the shadows of low light but want to get that sharp sharp sharp look to it. Please make some recommendations.

If its a 2.8 lens the best performing area normaly is 1 to 2 stops above wide open. Primes are sharpest. The more light the sharper the pic normaly. Also you need a ok shutter speed to avoid camera shake. Over 1/100 normaly.
