Default Help with mystery reflections

Hello All,

I am a newbie and looking for some help. I have a couple pictures that look like they have reflections of lights from somewhere but are not the normal flash bouncing off glass nearby (these pics didn't use flashes). I have attached an example. The multi color artifacts on my sweater curving around to my face are the issue. I have this on other images as well.

The tech details for the pic are that this was taken with a Canon t3i using a 50mm 1.8. I do have a UV filter on the lens.

So my questions are:
1. What could be causing this?
2. How do I prevent it?
3. For the pics I have already taken, any recommendations on removing it?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!

That looks like flare caused by unwanted light hitting the front of the lens/fllter..

Removing the filter (especially) and using a lens hood when shooting may help reduce or stop it.

You should be able to remove them from existing shots by using the cloning tool/brush in a picture editing program.
