I currently own a Nikon D7000 and 3 speedlights, an SB-600, SB-700 and an SB-900. I have played around with using them remotely some, but not a lot (mostly due to time constraints). I was wondering if anyone had some tips (diagrams welcomed) on the best positioning for these speedlights when shooting outdoor portraits. I realize this is somewhat subjective considering every location will a slightly different setup, but a general idea would be greatly appreciated. I do have tripods, but no umbrellas or softboxes.
Thanks in advance for the help. |

There are tons of setups that can work, but I would say to use a flash behind for a ring light, one off the side at 45 degrees or so for a main light, an one pretty much head-on for a little fill to help deal with shadows.
Just a thought, play around with them and you'll get something great! |
