I would like to find what sort of lighting I can use for indoors especially at wedding receptions where it's usually dark and just horrible to work with.

As Zona 5101 suggested, you have several options-- but if you have not used lighting equipment before, I would suggest an on-camera flash. One that tilts and swivels, so that you can use walls and ceiling for a light source. Make sure you have a diffuser for it, in case you need one.
