I set up with 2 Einsteins, main was modified with a 60" softlighter II umbrella, reflected, while the fill was a 46" softlighter II umbrella softbox. Post work in LR and CS4 (to clone the fill catch light.)
I am still trying to grasp my hands around these as I've only used my speedlites and didn't do that too often.

Only thing I can suggest is a slight rimlight behind him off to one side to separate his head from the background

Thank you Ambrosia.
Thank you, Linda. So far, I like them. I am going from speedlites to monoblocs and it is a joy. I've got a bunch to learn about them but it will come in time. Adam, I was wondering about that. I've never tried before and I don't have a boom. How do you suggest I position a speedlite on a light stand for that purpose? ETA: OK, I see that you had where to position.

Otherwise you can always try a tripod with a movable center column. Many have one that can be tilted sideways: it helps with getting the camera (and, in this case, a speedlight) into something interesting spots.
