HHS with wireless

Is this possible with the infared system built into the 7D?
My 580EXII Manual says it can but when I try to activate the HSS button on the flash it wont work.
Any ideas?

The 7D pop-up doesn't support HSS. I have no idea why they didn't include it but it drives me crazy. You need another 580ex or an ST-E2 in the hotshoe. Or, you could use an eTTL-capable cable.

Oh darn. I'm using Cactus V4's and my other strobe is a 480EXII (slave only) so I guess I'm out of luck there but it's not the end of the world.

Edit: Oooh wait. I can use the 580EXII as the master and put the 480EXII as the slave and use HSS? Correct?

Yes, that should work just fine.

Ya the 430EXII can be a slave.. I get the point of HSS. however the only time I would use it is out side and the decrease in power output on the flash. I normally use modifiers which already lose a stop+ of light..

Yes true. But in my case I don't have any backdrops yet and when doing portrait shots I was wanting to get my shutter speed up so I can blackout the BG.
