Nice picture. I don't find it distracting. I think it leads the eye into the city portion of the picture.

I don't find the clouds or the path distracting. As said above, the path leads you into the picture. I do find the slight leaning of the buildings to be a bit distracting though.

Is it the web rendering or is the image too sharpened?

Maybe I would have cheated with the horizon leveling of the photo. Since both the land ans the buildings are "leaning" to the left, I would have raised them so that they both appear to be on a straight horizon.

The path works nicely in this image. The clouds aren't great, but they're not a problem, either.

I would consider using a lens correction to reduce the effect of the buildings leaning toward the center.
