Default Files are too large

Greetings all,
I am an owner of a Kodak Z1285 and have found that the picture size settings from 1.2MP to 12MP to be more than I can use for work assignments. I need to get the settings to 640 x 480 as a maximum picture size setting so that I can import them into a soft ware program that won't create a massive file for uploading on to a server. I have to resize all the photos taken with additional software, like Photo Shop that adds hours of editing time to each project, as I am taking 60- 150 shot per project. If there is a manual over ride, I can’t find one. I am in need of finding a not too expensive work camera, more likely two, so I can have a backup, for work. Any suggestions on what camera (models and manufactures) that would allow these settings would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
BC

I would look into free batch image editing tools. Then you can just select all of your images and have them all resized to be whatever you want. Then you don't have to go in and resize each image individually. I just did a quick google search for "free batch image editor" and found lots of options. Perhaps others here could offer a better suggestion as to which one works the best, but I would think doing one batch edit is a better option than buying two new cameras just to get a reduction in image quality.

And I apologize if you've considered this and ruled it out already.

Something from about ten years ago? Even the camera I bought back in early 2001 (a Fujifilm Finepix 1300, I think) could shoot up to 1280x960. I don't recall if it could go down to 640x480 but manufacturers have been pushing resolution up not down ever since.

What kind of work are you doing? Even for something like web-based work (which I do a lot of) it is better to have larger images that you can resize or crop down than smaller, very low-res ones. Likewise, a 640x480 image has a tiny file size, when compared to broadband networks and memory sticks / DVDs for data transfer rather than floppy disks.

ps. I agree with Bryan that a batch converter may well be the answer... in which case you'd best tell us about the operating system you use as well.

Picnik is a lil slow but you can resize the image. It's free too (for that tool anyway)

I use VSO Image Resizer and it is nice. Has presets just choose your folder select your setting and hit GO. It will even batch add a watermark if you need to.
