Default Sunbathing

So here I am with a picture that happened accidentally.. The problem is even after trying for a while i cannot make this happen again.
I was shooting pics of my friend.. and exploring different angles.. and at one of the angles i came up with this shot.. i tried capturing the suns rays in this very form again but i have not met much of success. I need to know can a setup be created to split the light in this form ? Or at what places can I expect such behaviour of light ?
Please help me in understanding how i took it ?

can you re-post the pic smaller please, it's too wide for the forum and pop ups are all over it.

Looks like lens flare to me. To get it, your camera has to be pointing towards the sun, and have the front element not shaded from the sun.

Indeed it looks like you just caught some lens flare; nothing really technical about it.

Thanks for giving the technical term..
It ruins most photographs.. however i think in this case it has actually added on to the entire scene and effect..

Set something on fire, then you have smoke: smoke in sunlight.

Now you must choose an angle and shot
