Default aging copper.....

Exposure: 8
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 36 mm
Exposure: +0.85
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

i wanted to experiment with a flashlight as my only light source.....this copper kettle is a tricky one to light conventionally as there always seems to be too many hot spots of reflection that overwhelm the more shadowed areas....

i set up the shot in the kitchen with the lights on in the room.....stationed my camera and manually focused on the scene.....flipping off the lights and finding a good long shutter of 8 seconds, i set the timer and started painting over the objects with a flashlight....i have other small lights, but i really liked how the copper warmed up under my plain jane flashlight.....

there was a bit of trial and error with both the shutter speed decision and where exactly to paint the light and for how long.....this is one of the better of the batch.....

i did do a bit of post work on some of the more shadowed details by painting pastel oranges and greens set to overlay to bring them up.....and yeah, i might have overdone the vignette....

it was a fun project and the nicest way i could think of to kill a sunday afternoon....

You did an excellent job on this. The colors are warm without looking too "Vintage", if you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing how you set this up. I have several old pieces that can benefit from this.

the hardest part was that i had to keep the flashlight moving for the full 8 seconds.....i was trying to balance every bit of the light off of each object....being careful to light the kettle longer so that it would stand out.....

I think you have done an excellent job with this. A very vintage look with lovely warm colours. It could possibly have done with a little light in the foreground but I'm nit picking. Excellent work - as usual!!
