didn't have time to play with this last night but hope to tonight. i have the perfect hook, the perfect light (a small LED on string - specifically these in several colors). only down side is that the hook is over my bed, can't have the camera on a tripod and i'll have to be REALLLL still... :P i'll try with a delayed shutter.

You should try one of the really small desktop tripods. http://www.o-digital.com/uploads/215...Tripod_515.jpg

Stunning, simply stunning....

Tried it myself, so easy to recreate, but unfortunately I found out that I have a huge speck on my sensor, now need to get it cleaned....

When I clean it up, I'll give it another go...

Good shot! And it could be fortunate you found the spot on your sensor when you were doing something like this instead of having it ruin many more important shots later on? Still a bummer though I know

Wow that looks very nice and so crisp! It reminds me of some graphics stuff I programmed on the computer and on my graphic calculator when I was bored at school...

Fantastic!

Great idea for those nights when I can't sleep!

Default Spirals

Your first image is very interesting. It is a collection of ellipses, each one slight rotated with respect to the previous one. You will notice that in places the ellipses bunch together, giving the general appearance of two spiral arms unwinding from the centre. It looks like a spiral galaxy! That's no coincidence. In fact, spiral galaxies take their form from the fact the elliptical orbits of the stars are organized precisely in this way. Isn't that fun?
