Default Scopeless shooting.

Let me explain by giving you the example of a sniper, since it has a scope.

Scopeless: Shooting without viewing through or aiming through the scope.

When a sniper is in position, he can practically take any shot without any problem since target is far far away. But when that same target is at close range, viewing through the scope will be pain because subject to too close. So will that sniper use scope and pointless try to aim the target? its better if he try to shoot scopeless, I mean just aim and fire the damn thing since subject is too close.

Same concept for cameras.

Sometimes we don't shoot because we can't see the frame through the view finder. Maybe it was too low or too high or in small place. We never shoot with our SLR's at foot level if we can't see the frame. Same, we don't shoot over top, behind object shoots, Top to bottom, bottom to top; if we can't see and frame the shot.

I was with my friends doing photography and I took this shoot because I just want to shoot at every angle even if I can see or not. And this was a pure surprise. I did wanted a low angle shot but somehow it captured my other friend standing behind with nice DOF and angle.

In the Line of 7D

Its better to take the shoot then nothing. Artist all the time do this, they will just throw random streaks of paints on canvas to see what they got. Some artist (paint) said that its 1% knowledge, 1% imagination and 98% luck, use that. So use luck and shoot at ridiculous angles.

Sometimes you can try shooting a frame scopeless even if you can see the frame via viewfinder. Randomness is amazingly creative.

I do use scopeless shooting because sometimes thats the only option. Here are couple more examples.
Note: Non of these pics are cropped by an means.

Dare my eyes

Prrrrr

Hope you like my work and article.

I use this technique when I want to capture someone who doesn't like their picture being taken.

I do the same thing at most of my shoots. I call it shooting from the hip. It's especially effective when the model/subject is relaxed and doing their own thing. Sometimes my hip shots are the best of the shoot.

I like shooting from the hips to get a random shot. And it normally turns out really cool! It's also good for people who doesnt' like to get their pic taken. Yes, I'm sneaky
