Default Winter Solstice Full Lunar Eclipse

Photo was taken at 3:28 AM in Brooklyn with Nikon D3 with 70-200mm lens with 1.4 extender. ISO was 800, f/stop: 16. Multiple exposure taken on tripod over a period of 15 minutes. Two second exposures at three minutes apart. I included the building and tree as a frame of reference. Curves and Levels adjustment in Aperture 3. Photo was also cropped.

Nicely done. I only live a few hours from Brooklyn (CT) and all I had was cloud cover. I was very disappointed. You are lucky to have been able to take these shots. Thanks for sharing.

very nice shot. did you took multiple shots and combined them? I might give it a try on a full moon day to catch moon rising upwards...

This is really nicely done. When you stacked, did you mask out all but one exposure's tree? In long exposure you're going to get some movement unless the air is incredibly still, but it looks like there are multiple captures here. Either way it is a great shot.

Very nicely done! Didn't really get much of it here in Australia which is a shame, but I'm enjoying seeing the images of it from the rest of the world. Yours is amongst the best I have seen - the moon is so clear and detailed, and the multiple captures are a really nice effect. Thanks for sharing

Camera set on "bulb". Exposed moon for 2 seconds, then covered lens with black cloth for 3 minutes and expose again for 2 seconds. Cover and repeat; like shampoo directions

No masking; only one tree

Thanks, Kimberly! Focusing was the hardest part, as the moon was almost directly overhead
