Default Shooting a Triptych

For this shot, I placed my D700 on a tripod at a low setting so that the lens was on level with the seat of the couch. I placed an SB-600 with shoot-through umbrellas on both sides of the couch facing downward and had each set to TTL +3.0 EV. My camera was set to 1/80th of a second at ISO 200.

I cropped the images, removing everything from the above the waists and converted each to black and white with a hint of sepia to give them a 1930's look and feel.

I took the three images and saved them as JPEGS. I then imported them into Corel Draw, although I'm sure this can also be done in Photoshop. I then positioned the three images in the position you see and created the border/frame around each one to unitize the overall image before exporting...

Finally, someone who understands what a tryptich is. I see a lot of people post images they call tryptichs that are just a compilation of three images. No, in a tryptich the separate images should have some common theme. It doesn't have to be a story but should certainly be something that binds the images together in a special way. These have done that beautifully.
