Unhappy Failure.

Attempt one: failure.

Lessons learned:

Don't try to paint your own bowl, unless you know how to paint.
Acrylic paint devolves in water.
Shape of bowl is important (go with wide and flat)
Water bottle with loosened cap works as a eye dropper.

Attempt 2 coming soon.

Hehe, I am a horrid artist when I'm not behind a lens, so I commend your courage in painting your own bowl! Though a patterned/colorful bowl is not necessary, it just adds interest. Don't forget to experiment with all the different options! And yes, I forgot to mention that wider bowls do work better. Hey, you can even use your kitchen sink if you want!

These are some great photos! I made my first attempt at water drops the other day and posted a couple on another thread. These guidelines are really helpful and encouraging, giving me a few new ideas to make a better attempt. I am getting ready to try again.

Patience is definitely needed!!!

A couple of things I tried were setting the cable release to burst (it took a shot every 8 sec. so I could focus on dropping the water. And I used a turkey baster as the dropper. (Didn't have anything else that I could think of using.)
