Talking ?

just registered...have no clue how to do all this forum stuff yet....soon tho! I just have what i think the most common and annoying question.......I dont know how to even get started in food photography anyone have any tips?

Simple... Before you eat your dinner, take a photo of it and then work out what you could do better by comparison to anything you find on the internet that's classified "food photography" then when, if, you can't work out how to recreate the photos you find that you like, come back here, post and someone somewhere will point you in the right direction :-) Start here...

Rule #1 for taking pictures of food:

"Before you eat, photograph it. It will be more appealing than if you waited till after the meal"

HAR HAR before you eat it. good one. seriously, just start taking photos of what your making for lunch and dinner and start looking at what others do. I think there are a few threads on this site...use the search link and see what others are doing.

I've taken food pictures before. it just pisses the family off and they are so hungry and the food so cold by the time I finish. Now, I just normally fix it, serve them and then play with mine.

I don't know, practice?....
One major key to food photography (or any photography for that mater) is lighting. You will be looking at studio lighting of some sort in the end.
