Ahhh, there was me thinking it was something gloomy had happened on that day in the past - I wasn't even thinking from a monetary perspective.
I suppose it make's sense they wouldn't turn a bad day in history into a major shopping day!

Thank you Saralonde

I also did the same for an X Box. Wasn't planning on it and I'm embarrassed to admit, I stayed out all night for that . I went into the store at 6 pm to innocently ask if they had one and Best Buy was the first to tell me they were getting a shipment the next morning. I walked outside and there were 2 people in line already! This was the only thing my son had asked for Christmas and he never asks for anything. So in a spur of the moment decision, I walked over, got in line, called my husband and said I won't be home until the next morning . Other than a two hour period around 3-5 am when I felt cold and exhausted, I had a great time with 200 other crazy people. A Red Bull truck came around with free drinks, a local TV station interviewed people, some people brought grills and made food for everyone or ran out for coffee. We held each others place in line for bathroom breaks (nearby WalMart was open 24 hours). My family took turns coming and sitting with me until they passed out the tags again. I'll never do that again, but I was amazed at the camaraderie and how well behaved everyone was. Crazy, but on the whole a positive and memorable experience.
Wow! You know, that actually sounds fun
I think I'll just be going earlyish.. like 3-4am rather than the night before, haha

Last year at our Best Buy, a guy brought his generator, put it way out in the lot, and then ran a long cord to his 42" plasma that he had brought with a dvd player and had movies playing all night!! And the local pizza place came by around 1am and handed out pizza to everyone in line!!!!

Personally, I like Cyber Monday better, just take the day off and sit in your house and spend, spend, spend!!! And FYI, for most items you can actually get better deals before and after BF if you hunt around. I just got a 32" lcd, for $329 which is far less than all of the sales for BF...
