Exclamation Laptop Crashing

Hi Everyeone,

I recently did the recovery system & had to do all the updating & reinstalling everything that i needed. It only worked for a few days intill it started to crash on me. the day before i was on it intill 11 ( Saturday nite) something at nite but i was just on facebook & chatting to one of my friends. It started crashing on me Sunday morning. It lets me login & it starts to set up but it usually crashes / freezes on me before its done setting up & then i get that blue screen. & then it restarts itself & then it does it again & again! whats wrong with my laptop! i wiped it clean so why is it still crashing on me? yeah it only works for a few days but still like i said again why does it crash on me if i wiped it clean!??????????? Im sooo sick of this!!!!

Thanks

Save what you can from it now: sounds like it's gonna need either a full reset or there's a HD hardware issue.

As a software engineer......sounds like a hardware issue. Either figure out which piece of hardware is failing and causing the BSoD by examining the error codes on it/figuring out what new piece of hardware you installed or changed the drivers for, or get a new laptop.... or write down the EXACT sequence of what's happening then post the question to a computer support forum...

Usually there is a "stop code" in the blue screen.
Do a web search on the code.
This would be a start for troubleshooting the issue.

It does sound like a hardware problem, since you reinstalled it recently. Try to figure out what changes have been made just before it started happening, did you install some new hardware, software, drivers, etc. You can also boot it up in Safe Mode and look at the Event Viewer to see what errors were recorded at the time it last happened, then google them. And try to google the stop code.

Could also be a virus.

Agreed, just saw this on a laptop i'm fixing (pita), ..it even messed up safe mode booting...never seen that before
if it will boot into safe mode alright you have a driver issue...se if you can do a system restore to a time before it started crashing..

have you tried "Last Known Good Configuration"...

Probably incorrect drivers loaded on your system or faulty memory if you truly have a clean build here.

My desktop did the exact same thing a year or so ago.

After trying everything under the sun, I did the resore on it. It wouldn't even get thru the restore process with out crashing.

Then I remembered one thing I never checked......the memory. I poped out one chip, and it was still fried. Then I put that chip back in,and took out the other one.

Presto! It went thru the restore perfectly. I have about 4 back ups of everything, but it was still a pain loading everything back on it the way I had it.
