quick jokes

if you know a good (relativley clean) quick joke,
IE a joke one could use to help get a person to relax a bit and give a chuckle whlst staring at them through a viewfinder... i'd love to hear your favourite ones.

i know there a a billion sites devoted to jokes... but most of them are just stupid
this thread could serve as a filter.. a human being actually finds it humorous.

Well, it may not work for you, but my favorite one to get a woman to smile is to say, "Ok, now give me the look you give your husband..... Oh that's no good, give me the smile you give your boyfriend"

This is not really a joke, BUT, I tell the kids - the ones old enough to understand, I know a secret, I egg them on and then say Did you know that Daddy wears diapers! - usually a real smile. I also have a woopie cushion, works for everyone, EVEN The adults. I also ask the kids to sing the alphabet, they have relaxed faces then and are usually very proud that they know the alphabet.

For women, I say thing slike I wish I had your skin, something that they usually never hear (I never mention the eyes or smile).

I also photographed a teen who REFUSED to smile. So I flat out sd I am gonna get you to smile, no matter what. And the one thing that worked, I swallowed some air and let out a burp! LOL Actually that prob works with kids too!

It sounds like you adjust according to your subject. That's a great piece of advice to others. You sound like a natural 'people person', Pat.

the whoopiee cussion is a pretty good idea actually..

i'm specifically doing a family of four (with a dog) on Sunday.. kids are teenagers.
so i at least know im gonna get the guy to smile.. i just need "something" for if/when the mood dies.
...family friendly.. and clean.. i KNOW they wont appreciate the dirty ones.

then several models on Monday.. all day so i need some ammo

Check you out being so busy! For the teenagers, can you ask them about their favorite band/musician? You can also tell them knock-knock jokes. Knock know, whose there? I bet/ I bet who. I bet I can make you smile. They will chuckle despite themselves. even if they are smirks...

What are the age of your models? If they are profesional older models, I suspect that you play to their vanity...not to insinuate that mdels are vain...but ya know -

Oh, the other thing I do is make them make a funny face...no photographer ever asks them to do that.

its good to be busy
the teenagers are .. about 15 and 19 so i'm definatley angling for the boyfriend/girlfriend questions

the models arent professional, probably some experience.. they are between 18-20
2 girls 2 guys. there is a wide range of shots to get through from serious to quirky to actual laughing.. but it will be fun. had several shoots already with this guy.. all are secret until the launch of the brand unfortunatley.. but they are happy with whats been produced so far.. so i'm stoked.
its always easier when theres a pretty face in the picture.
