Hi Everyone.
I had my Canon 50D professional cleaned because I had a few spots appearing on my printed images. I picked up the camera yesterday and now the viewfinder is filled with black specks! However, the images appear fine on the computer. What happened and can this be fixed? I plan to go back to the camera store in the morning. Thanks much. BigBird |

This is why I clean my gear myself. dont have to shell out money for something that I can do myself and with more care than some putz working in the camera store.

lol.... you can't tell me that you take as much care of someone else's camera as you do your own.

Well I suppose you can say whatever you want. Still does not make it true.

It is just basic logistics man. If you have 100 orders to get done you will not be able to spend as much time on it as if you just had one. This applies to almost any business where you have to operate on a deadline. I am not saying that people at camera stores necessarily do a bad job cleaning cameras. But I have yet to find a store where they wipe down the camera every time they pick it up to remove any oils that may have gotten on the camera from handling. And go over every mm of the camera with a qtip to remove any dust/sand/grit that may be in the cracks. And not charge $100+ for the service. Why because it takes too much time for them to do that. That is fine. I would not expect them to take care of my gear the same way that I do.
It has nothing to do with me thinking I am better than any of them. It is just a fact of life. They have to work on a bunch of cameras and need to get it done quickly where as I just have my 5 cameras and can take as much time as I want to get it done. And to answer your second question. Yes and no. There are dishes that I would make for myself that are not on the menu because of the amount of time it takes to make the dish. However everything that is on the menu is prepared just as well as I would do for my own consumption. Better actually because I do not care about the presentation of the dish if I am going to eat it myself.

[QUOTE=Stupid;663109]We spend the same amount of time on each one.
If you never take your camera to be cleaned, how would you know? Besides, you can't generalize like that. Unless you've been in our shop, you can't make those claims. [/qoute] Well does your shop do the things I said? Funny how you left out the part where I said I do not do the same for my customers that I do for myself on some things because of the fact that it takes too much time.
