Exclamation Website Elements

What are the elements on a Professional Photographer's Website?
I know one of the elements is galleries but what else is there?
How many galleries are too much to be on a photography website?

thanks

No specific answer for you, but you could watch some of the Zack Arias critique videos where he critiques photography websites. He makes a lot of good points about things not to do and what to do.

Galleries are a must (obviously - you can't hire a photographer "blind" by only seeing one or two pictures)

When our website goes live (hopefully by the end of the month) we're going to have a section for seniors, maternity/baby/children, families, engagements/weddings and a random "everything else" (bands, commercial products, shots of local "photography field trips")

Online proofing is another thing to consider if you want to be able to email clients the link (especially handy for weddings, if grandma sees a picture she wants, she can buy it and not have to come into the studio). Also, if you become popular enough by someone out of state (or out of decent driving distance) the gallery works for them as well.

On a different note, that Zack Arias link is amazing - I'm a huge fan of his work and listening to him pick apart websites/galleries is almost a photo class in itself.
