OUTSTANDING!! I really believe that this is, by far, the best forum of any kind I've belonged to. Since joining, I have told anyone that is into photography to check it out. To me, it really is like a big family. Getting to know the other members online, just being able to share photos and thoughts with members all over the world, I find extremely helpful and enjoyable.
This past spring, when I read about the photowalk being organized in Chicago by Cloverlane (Jon), I thought this is something I need to check out. So I had my girlfriend take me down to the bus station in downtown St. Louis, got on a bus at 1:00 AM, arrived in Chicago at 6:00 AM. As I walked up to the meeting place at Millennium Park, I spotted a gentleman with a camera out who immediately waved and said "You with DPS?" and introduced himself as Hayward Taylor. Soon other members arrived and everyone introduced themselves and by the end of the day, it was like we were old friends. Ater the walk, I made my way back to Union Station and caught a train back to St. Louis. I finally arrived back home around midnight. It made for a really long day, but probably the best day I've had that was just purely photography. I would like to thank all the people that make this forum so enjoyable. The moderators who keep things running right and the members in general for just being so friendly and helpful. And a big thanks to Darren for making it all possible. Mark

This is indeed a special place. I've been using many forums and non of them have such a friendly community. This is a place where I can come whenever I want and every time there's plenty of nice people to learn from and to make friends. I can't think of another resource that can teach me as much as these forums can, and I haven't even scratched the surface of its other parts, like Photo. techniques and Critique.
Thank you all! |
