Default Resizing Images

How do I resize photo's to 600x400 in photoshop elements. Can I resize a batch of photos at the same time? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

CTRL+ALT+i or Image -> Resize image will both bring up the image resize box. Enter your 600x400 pixel values and press enter. Tadaaa

You can create an action to do it. This is a bit more complex, but there are some very good detailed tutorials online.

Default Do I leave it as inches?

I tried that and now I am confused if I leave it as inches or do I change it to one of the other options. What I am trying to do is a cd of low res images.

If youre using it for web or computer use, then resize using the pixels. If youre printing, re-size using the inches/DPI controls.

PSE doesn't allow you to create actions like CS4. However you can batch resize.

Put all of the images you want to resize in one folder.

-In the PSE Editor select File>Process Multiple Files...
-Select the folder with the images you want re-sized and select a folder to save the re-sized versions to.
-Tick the resize images check box and enter your size in pixels
-Uncheck all of the other options and run.

Viola... Done

Only issue is that you can't do both landscape orientation and portrait orientation at the same time as PS doesn't have the ability to distinguish between the two and re-size accordingly.

Does PSE have "save for web"? This is probably what you're really after anyway??? Look in File - Save for Web/Devices or something similar, if you have it it will resize, let you chose compression settings and strip out un-necessary data.
