Default Best of both worlds!

Some of you might remember I was having trouble deciding on the 50mm or the 35mm lens a few weeks ago. I ended up going for the 50mm and absolutely love it! The only problem is kids and animals (the 2 things I photograph most) move a bit quicker than I can focus manually.

I happened to be wandering past my local camera store this afternoon and on the spur of the moment popped in and bought the 35mm f/1.8 that autofocuses on my D60

I haven't tried it just yet, I wore out my battery at the zoo today and it's charging. I reckon I'm going to finish this post and start snapping my wife cook dinner (for proof if nothing else, it doesn't happen much!).

Anyway, thought I better tell someone that cares, my wife isn't very happy with me blowing $400 without asking (as she would have said yes anyway?). I know ya'll still love me

Stay tuned for photos...

So... return the 50mm? The 35mm is so much sharper at f1.8.

I had a bit of a snap tonight (nothing worth posting) and so far think it's great! See how we go in the light of day...

Is it? I tried them both at the shop when I bought the 50mm and looking on the camera screen thought the 50mm pic was nicer! I think it was the Bokeh that did it, I'm not sure but something definitely made me like it better?

It's a bit hard to judge at night (my speedlight's batteries are flat) I'll try to get a few shots in tomorrow during the day to compare, I'm fairly sure that no matter the new lens will be sharper for me as it autofocuses for me

I'll see how it goes, I don't think I'll get rid of the 50mm as I like the tighter crop for portraits, but if I do find I'm never using it, one of my mates has a D90 and he's still only got the kit lens!

The 50 and 35 are very similar wide open, btu I have to say that the 50 comes out on top.
