Default Airshow help?

going to an airshow tomorrow. weather showing partly cloudy (rain yesterday and today). I was planning on taking my kit lens and 55-250mm. I've been reading up and was wondering if anyone had and tips or must-do's type of thing?? thanks! really hoping to get some decent shots.

I am going the Rockford airshow too

The best advice i can give, is take loads of photos. I plan on shooting on auto, most of the day.

I took over 2,000 photos, today at the practice show.

Here is one i took of the B-1 Lancer, landing today at Rockford

love the pics! I was dissappointed in mine but a few that were ok. I'm loading them up to flickr now. I missed the shot of the wall of fire and my son gave me hell for it the rest of the day. lol It caught me offguard and with feeling the heat from it I was in aw I guess. lol looks like you were up in the front, we were center right at the fence before the captain area. told hubby next year just me and him are going and getting the 100 dollar tickets for the up and front spots. being back where we were (which was as close as we could get) the tents and all the people were in my way of getting any good landing/take off pics.

going to post them now in the share your shots. let me know what you think (and be honest!) oh I know there was TONS of people there but if you saw the lady with the yellow Packers jersey on that was me. lol Saw quite a few bears jerseys but not a single Packers besides me. I got a kick out of that.

I was at the far east end, by the B-1 Lancer on the ground. No tents were down there. Yes, it was a walk to get there, but well worth it. For the last 2 years now, the far east end has been the best place to sit without the tents being in the way

They need to do something about those tents, its ridiculous that they put them up front! Blocks the general viewing area. 2 years now it has been like that. I hope they get alot of complaints about it and go back to the way it was before, tents in back. I know i am going to email Bob O'Brian bout it. Yes, I did have a good viewing spot, but the rest of the airshow people didn't. What did ya think bout those loooooooooong lines to the bathroom? OMG that was insane as well! I waited in line an hour just to use the bathroom! Last year, there weren't no lines. This year, OMG! lol

I got exclusive photos of the Harrier and the L-39. I talked to Art, the pilot. And he let me cross the line and some really awesome photos! I wish i could post em, but i promised him i wouldn't. It was pretty cool, knowing i was the only civilian from the crowd, allowed on the tarmac

I had tickets for todays show, but i got sunburnt real bad and gave em away. I am definitely bringing sunscreen next year!

I am going to go check out your photos. I am still sorting through mine. I didn't realize how many i took, I took over 4,700 photos! Alot of sorting to do, lol
