Default Odd Question!

Anyone here wear eyeglasses? If so, how does it work when looking through the viewfinder. I ask as I am old and do wear reading glasses. At my last eye visit, my distance vision was a bit off but not enough to require glasses. I realize that at some point I will most likely require glasses for distance (the dreaded "B" word) and am not sure how this would affect focusing. Perhaps contacts would be the way to go. Thanks.

Not such an odd question. What type of camera do you have? I have a Canon Rebel XT (350D) and I am able to adjust the eyepiece to fit my vision. There is a little wheel to the right of the eyepiece. I would assume a lot of cameras have this.

I wear glasses... but since i have gotten my D50 i have gotten contacts to wear because i cant stand wearing my glasses while looking thru the view finder.. I'm not blind i can see ok without my glasses.. i just cant read road signs off in distance that kinda stuff... i am looking into getting an adapter for my d50 that will allow me to wear nothing not even contacts... its a diopter set at -2 which is what my prescription is in my glasses.. the diopter on many cameras allow for minor correction but not all as most only go to -.5 (i think)

I wear glasses - I have varifocals and find when looking through a viewfinder I have to take them off so I can see what I am looking at but that could be becuase they are varifocals and its difficult to look through the right bit of the glasses lens and the viewfinder at the same time. hth

I am wearing eyeglasses and find no problem looking at the viewfinder. Most of them come with the diopter adjustment if you wish any adjustment. I just have to be conscious that in terms of the frame area I am seeing less than what the viewfinder is really showing.

I do wear glasses and I find it a bit difficult with my particular camera. I always look at the lcd display.

Saralonde - I have the 20D and believe it has this feature. Never messed with it though but will check it out. Thanks.

I will check out Saralonde's suggestion and otherwise I guess I will just have to wait to cross that bridge when I get to it. My eyes water just thinking about putting contacts in them. I'm a wimp!

Thanks to everyone.
