I don't think I would use it.

I have a feeling that if I stretch out my 18-200 and lay it on a fence rail,I may have to buy a new lens.
That's not going in my camera bag!

lololol

its a beanbag.....

steps
1. get a plastic shopping bag
2. put sand in it
3. tie the end together.

i've done the same with an unused jumper too..

i dont see anything special about it.

I seen these at Don's Photo here in toon town, very much just a beanbag. I used to use a beanbag for my point and shoots when I'd set it up on say a coffee table and wanted an angle but they seem impractical for a SLR or say a bridge camera.

Beanbags have their place in long lens photography, but to be effective they need to be much larger than this.

Smile I have a red and green pod

I find great use for both of these pods depending upon which camera I am using. My advanced point and shoot works great with the red pod and my nikon D80 with 70-300 lens is well supported when I use the green pod. I mostly use it as a support as if holds angles very well on whatever surface is around. I highly recommend them.
