Forum Upgrade Update [Post Bugs Here]

Hi all - just a quick note to let you know that we've upgraded our forum software and made a few changes to the way the forum is operating structurally.

The URLS for different areas of the forum have changed. Now instead of:

http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=22

for the assignment area it's now:

http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/digital-photography-assignments/

Hope that makes a little more sense from a user perspective. The old URL will still work and redirect to the new one but from now on the new keyword based URLS will be in effect both for category areas as well as on individual posts.

This has been done for two reasons - firstly for user benefits and secondly because it should help our forums rank a little higher in the search engines.

The upgrade has caused a few bugs. One that we're aware of is avatars disappearing. We'll work to restore them as soon as we can.

Another bug we've noticed is that sometimes people are seeing 404 errors when visiting parts of the forum. Most times if you refresh your browser it'll fix itself. This is just our servers catching up and getting used to the new structure.

Havent had any issues since the "page not available" errors earlier this week. Current issue though: all avatars are blank.

I've had error 404 not a moment ago, while trying to enter general chat forum - refresh fixed the problem. Also, can not see any avatars.

ahhhh that explains it thank you for the post .!! also can I mention for some reson it keeps crashing out now in firefox has done so about ten times kind opf annoying

404 errors 4 out of 10 times .. even when I just hit a link on the site to change forums .. FYI I experienced this very same avatar issue on a woodworking forum I used to be a member of .. Avatars were lost in the upgrade, and anyone who attempted to restore or replace their own were blown off the site .. all history, threads and posts went poof .. very ugly .. not sure if that is the case here, but I am waiting this out and will watch your thread here for updates .. thx!

social groups are messed up.

have to click a few times to get to the group messages if you can get there at all. even then you see the oldest posts first vs. seeing the newest post first.

i'm also still gettng 404 error, "page not available" and Avatars are also missing.

Yeah I'm getting the 404 thing all the time as well.

404s are popping up now. No idea why.

Um, I use the Forum drop down menu at the top right of the page a lot, and even tho I can still figure out whats what, the ad for the art institute on the right kinda covers it a little. Did it always do that, or did it just start? I don't remember.
